Introduction of the company

PADJAM Polymer Development Co. (Private Joint Stock)

PADJAM Polymer Development Co. (Private joint stock) was established in 2015 as the executive of the ABS/Rubber production project by JAM Petrochemical Co. This project is under construction in the Pars Energy Special Economic Zone located in Asaluyeh Port on an area of 15-hectars, with a production capacity of 200,000 metric tons of ABS per year and 60,000 metric tons of Rubber per year, licensed by Versalis-Eni S.p.A. Versalis-Eni S.p.A is an Italian Company, owned one of the most advanced petrochemical technologies in the world. Basic engineering designs have been carried out by Tecnimont.
This company is capable of producing 9 grades of ABS and 3 types of Rubber in 7 different grades, for the first time exclusively in Iran. The feeds for this complex include styrene, 1 & 3 butadiene, and acrylonitrile. About half of the produced rubber in the Rubber Plant, is used as feed in the ABS Plant for adjusting the physical and mechanical properties of ABS, while the remaining rubber could be supplied to market.

100% of the shares of this Co. belong to Jam Petrochemical Co.

Production of Polymer ABS

PADJAM Polymer Development Co (Private Joint Stock)

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) with the chemical formula (C8H8) x·(C4H6) y·(C3H3N) z is an engineering thermoplastic resin (polymer) obtained from the polymerization of Styrene and Acrylonitrile in the presence of Polybutadiene.

The composition ratio of each material varies based on the desired property. Accordingly, Acrylonitrile can vary between 15 to 35%; Styrene between 40 to 60% and Butadiene between 5 to 30%.

The presence of styrene gives the plastic a shiny (polished) and impermeable surface. Also, Polybutadiene, which is a Rubber material, increases its toughness and impact resistance even at low temperatures, and Acrylonitrile increases the strength and chemical resistance of the polymer.

Production and supply

In the line with the mission of completing product chain value in Iran, Padjam Petrochemicals, as a subsidiary of Jam Petrochemicals, can produce two types of petrochemical products, "Rubber" and "ABS". Since these ABS and Rubber products shall be used in Tire industry, automobile and household appliances industry, they are significant in terms of added value and making the country free of importations. ABS production will be carried out through 3 process lines. After 14 years, the first ABS process line started to exploit in May 2023. Other required processing sections will be pre-commissioned and commissioned to the end of the year. In recent times, with growing empathy and cohesion between Padjam Group, JAM Petrochemicals, and shareholders , it is hoped that Line ABS 5000 will be put into operation to the end of the year.

Technology

Padjam Polymer Development Co. has a plan, idea and expertise in the field of flare recovery and clean and flare-free production. Giving through to a serious plan for the flare recovery, it aims to recover flare gas up to 90%. Padjam Polymer has presented this plan and project procedure to the Oil Industry Research Institute (OIRI) and after obtaining the approval of both OIRI and National Petrochemical Industry Company (NPC), a contract was hold with OIRI in order to engineering design of the flare recovery package. In this plan, the flare gas will be recovered at first, no need to burn and cause pollution in the heights. After this stage, remaining gas will go through Ground Flare furnace, where small burners are enclosed inside it. Polymer Padjam has employed modern technologies to operate this project. With this technology and the successfulness in the field of flare recovery and minimum flaring, Padjam’s vision is the recovery of flare as a national treasure and the achievement of “zero flare” which has been common in the world for a long time.
